Elbow injury
There are many different types of Elbow injury and the most common is often referred to as 'tennis elbow'. The condition is prevalent among workers who use their hands often, performing repetitive tasks. It is an injury concentrated around the joint. Many people suffer from repetitive strain injuries (RSI) without seeking legal advice. However prevention can include stretching muscles before and after use or the use of ice to cool any inflamed area.
More serious elbow injuries include dislocations and fractures. Often these occur as a result of travel accidents or falls sustained during sports activities. A dislocation or fracture may occur as the arm is outstretched to break the fall. These injuries can be extremely painful and require sedation, x-ray and certainly time off work. Fractures that are not dealt with quickly can leave severe stiffness later on while heavy damage to the area may also affect blood vessels and nerves.
If the injury occurred due to the carelessness of another you may be able to make a successful claim. Wet floors that are not signed posted, poor safety procedures at work or malicious intent on the part of an individual are all valid reasons to make a person injury claim. If you feel you have a case you should contact a personal claims advisor as soon as possible.
For minor elbow injuries including tennis elbow successful claimants can expect to receive up to £6000. More serious injuries such as fractures and dislocations can pay up to £16,000 and a severe injury up to £28,000.
