Leg injury
Leg injuries are the most common injury in the UK today as the make up of the legs are very complex, with a multitude of injuries possible; ranging from breaks, fractures, damaged ligaments, torn muscles, deep vein thrombosis, among many others. People who have been injured through no fault of their own, whether at work, in a public place or on the road will be eligible for compensation from the guilty party.
Where an injury to the leg has been sustained at work through a fall from a ladder or through slipping on the floor and it was found that the employer did not provide proper training or footwear in these cases then they will be held responsible. The insurance company of the driver that caused you to be injured will be liable in road traffic accidents and perhaps the airline where somebody may have contracted deep vein thrombosis because their seating was too cramped, will be liable.
The most common leg injuries are through car and motorbike accidents where the leg is broken, fractured or even crushed beyond repair. Slips and falls often cause knee damage, where ligaments can be permanently damaged leading to less mobility, while sporting accidents often result in breakages, sprained muscles or ligament damage. Substantial compensation can be claimed if negligence was proved by the guilty party, with payout sums ranging from a few hundred pounds for a simple Knee Injury to tens of thousands of pounds for a severe ongoing injuries.
If you have sustained an injury to your leg through the negligence of someone else and speak to a solicitor within three years of the accident, you have a good chance of taking the perpetrator to court and receiving the rightful compensation you are entitled to.
