Wrist injury


The majority of wrist injuries occur when people try to break a trip or fall with their hands and twist their wrist resulting in a sprained wrist which can range from the fairly mild through to more serious joint instability and torn ligaments. The wrist is made up of forearm bones and carpal bones and various tendons ligaments and muscles which join them to the hand. Apart from strains wrist injuries include dislocation, fractures and tendonitis.

Most wrist injuries are caused by slips trips or falls. Wrist injuries are fairly common but can be quite serious. Small acts of thoughtlessness such as a badly lit staircase or uneven flooring can cause painful wrist injuries which require extensive medical treatment and lead to loss of earnings.
